Terms of Use

By accessing our platform, you agree to the terms outlined below. Please read them carefully to ensure you understand your rights and responsibilities.

Introduction

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the EasyAnnounce platform, which includes our website, web app, APIs, and related services. By using the platform, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and, if applicable, your organization.

Eligibility & Authority

You must be at least the age of majority in your place of residence and legally able to agree to these terms. If you use the platform on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

Acceptable Use

You must not misuse the platform or attempt to disrupt or bypass security controls. You must not upload content you do not have the rights to use, attempt unauthorized access, distribute malware, or share API keys outside your organization.

Subscriptions & Billing

Free & paid plans include usage limits, quotas, and rate limits. You agree to pay applicable fees and taxes and to keep billing details accurate. We may suspend service for overdue payments or abusive usage.

Your Content & Permissions

You retain ownership of the announcement scripts, text, and audio you provide. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide and improve the service. You are responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions (including voice consent) to use any personal data or submitted voice recordings for cloning.

Service Limits & Third Parties

The platform's infrastructure relies on global third-party and text-to-speech providers. Outages, latency, or provider restrictions can affect availability or output quality. Whilst we take measures to avoid this, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free results.

“Platform” means the EasyAnnounce website, dashboards, APIs, and services. “Customer Content” means any text, scripts, names, metadata, or audio you or your team submit. “Output” means generated audio, text, and related results produced by the platform.

You are responsible for keeping your credentials (including OAuth logins), API keys, and access tokens secure and for all activity under your account. If you manage an organization account, you are responsible for controlling user access and ensuring compliance with these terms. Notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.

Plans may include quotas, usage limits, and rate limits that are enforced automatically. We may throttle, restrict, or suspend usage that risks platform stability, violates fair use expectations, or attempts to bypass quotas or technical controls. We may change technical limits to protect service reliability.

You must not: (a) violate any law or regulation; (b) upload infringing, defamatory, or harmful content for audio generation; (c) attempt to reverse engineer or abuse the platform; (d) probe or bypass our security; (e) distribute malware or exploit payloads; (f) impersonate people, mislead the public, or create fraudulent announcements; (g) share API keys outside your organization or resell access without our written permission; (h) use the platform (including any name scoring or prediction features) to discriminate, harass, or make decisions about individuals based on protected characteristics (such as race, ethnicity, religion, or nationality).

You retain all rights to Customer Content. You grant us a limited license to process it solely to provide the Services (including generating Output and troubleshooting). Output is provided only to you and your authorized users. The license ends when the content is deleted, subject to reasonable backup and retention practices.

If you provide voice audio (for custom voices or otherwise), you confirm you have explicit permission from the individual whose voice it is (and any other required consents) to use, process, and reproduce that voice for your lawful purposes. You must not submit voice samples for impersonation, deception, harassment, or any unlawful activity. We may refuse or remove voice-related features where consent or lawful use is unclear

Default and customized announcements should be reviewed by your organization. Dynamic outputs and text-to-speech (such as name pronunciation) may vary by language and region and you may prefer to review and test before public use. The platform is not intended for emergency announcements (e.g. fire or security alerts).

We own the platform, including its IP, software, all of the associated models, algorithms, code, branding, and documentation. You receive a limited, non-transferable right to use the platform via web app or API during the term of your subscription, subject to these terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the platform except as allowed by law and with our written permission.

Some features rely on third-party services (including some text-to-speech generation, cloud hosting of our worker servers, and networking providers). Their availability, acceptable use rules, and technical limits may affect the platform. We are not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, or restrictions, and we may modify or disable features to comply with third-party requirements

Paid plans renew each billing cycle until cancelled. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. You are responsible for taxes. We may change pricing or plan features with notice, effective at your next renewal. Refund requests, if available, apply only to the most recent billing period.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, suspected fraud, security risk, abusive usage, or overdue payment. You may cancel your subscription according to the plan settings. On termination, your right to use the platform ends and we may delete or de-identify Customer Content in accordance with our retention practices and applicable law.

Customer Content is deleted from active systems immediately when you delete it. It may persist in backups until rotated. We may retain aggregated or de-identified usage metadata for billing and fraud prevention, including with Stripe.

You must not disclose non-public platform details that we mark or reasonably treat as confidential or IP (such as security measures or private documentation). If you provide feedback, you grant us the right to use it without restriction or compensation, including to improve or market the platform.

The platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or fully accurate outputs. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under applicable law that cannot be excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim relating to the platform will not exceed the fees paid to us for the platform under these terms in the one (1) month before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

You agree to indemnify and defend us from any third-party claims arising from your use of the platform, your announcements or Customer Content, or your breach of these terms, including any claim that you did not have the necessary rights, notices, or consents (including voice consent) for content submitted or custom voice features you enabled.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including internet or network failures, cloud provider outages or errors, labor disputes, natural disasters, war or armed conflict, pandemics, or government actions.

We may update the platform and these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here (and may be notified in-product). Continued use after the effective date of updated terms constitutes acceptance.

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Except where prohibited by applicable law, you agree that any dispute will be brought in the courts located in New Zealand and you submit to their jurisdiction. Nothing prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or equitable relief.
